David Blauvelt, PA-C MPAS

David is the owner/founder of First Care Medical PC. First Care saw their first patient on February 8th, 2005. Prior to First Care David worked 3 years in family practice and 4 years in urgent care medicine for a medical group in western Nebraska. Prior to that, he worked Ophthalmology for a group of eye surgeons in Scottsbluff.

Most enjoyable experience at FCM?
Getting to know our patients and the relationships that have developed is the most enjoyable part of my job at First Care. Being able to be such an important part of people’s lives is a true blessing and an awesome responsibility.

What is your role at FCM?
My goal at First Care is to give patients the best, most appropriate care I can give them; whether this comes from myself or the other providers at First Care, or from the specialty physicians the we refer our patients to.

Most enjoyable experience at FCM?
I enjoy the quick pace and low acuity as apposed to the emergency room...quick pace high acuity.

What is your role at FCM?
Thorough evaluation of the patient in a timely manner. Though the acuity is low, it is important that the few acute or potentially serious problems are all correctly identified and handled quickly and efficiently. Also supervising physician for the PA's.

Brenda Haussermann has accepted our position offer as Part-Time Nurse Practitioner, primarily for the FCM Kearney clinic weekend operational hours to give us more additional provider coverage for rotations; PRN coverage for sick, vacation, and maternity time.

Brenda is currently employed full-time at Dundy County Hospital and Quality Healthcare Clinic in Benkelman, NE, where she has been practicing since September 2013. She is coming to us with 17 years of overall nursing experience. Brenda resides in Naponee, NE with her husband, Brett, and their 5 children (ranging from ages 8 – 25).

Scott Reifschneider , PA-C

Scott Reifschneider has accepted our position offer as Full-Time Physician Assistant for the FCM Kearney clinic's weekday and weekend operational hours to give us more additional provider coverage and coverage for sick, vacation, and maternity time at both clinics.

Scott is a recent 2014 graduate from Des Moines University in IA and is coming to us from Carolina Cardiac Surgery in Columbia, SC after one year of experience. He is also a paramedic. (Some of our veteran staff may remember Scott from his pre-PA observation time during his undergraduate years at UNK between 2004-2008.) Scott resides in Kearney with his wife, Megan.

Gene Wyse, DO

Gene Wyse has accepted our position offer as Part-Time Physician (DO – Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine), primarily for the FCM Kearney clinic weekend operational hours to give us more additional provider coverage for rotations, and PRN coverage for sick, vacation, and maternity time.

Gene recently retired from the State of Nebraska DHHS, where he had been practicing family medicine for 15 years. He is coming to us with 37 years of family practice experience. Gene resides in Kearney with his wife, Karianne.
